We are starting to hang the show! This is our strongest Group Exhibit yet and we are so proud of the work. Make sure you stop by this Saturday! The fun starts at 6:30.
Keep reading for stories about a few more pieces in the show. Be sure to check out the full exhibit gallery here.
Heidi Richardson loves to take pictures when she is traveling. The images in the show are from a recent trip to Iran. Both are of the Jameh Mosque on Imam Square and show some reference to man’s presence in such a holy place…carpets rolled up in anticipation of a service, construction scaffolding framing the Mosque. They are beautifully rich in color and texture. Heidi is an architect (her firm designed the new Image Flow) and has always enjoyed taking pictures. (Urban Landscape)
Marianne York’s abstract is of the underside of a banana leaf. Working with Matt and Stuart has helped her see in a different way. She is a black & white social documentary photographer, and The Flow really helped her shake up with the way she was seeing. She has taken classes at Maine Photographic Workshops, Santa Fe Workshops and Friends of Photography. ( Photo Essentials I and II, Advanced Composition and Sequencing)
Gary Yost’s picture was taken in a Taoist Temple near one of the peaks of Qingcheng mountain, in the western part of China’s Sichuan province. Gary has been shooting all his life, but got “serious” a couple of years ago when Stuart helped him print and curate a project about nesting hummingbirds. He is now a semiprofessional photographer and always has interesting projects in the works! For more information, click here. (Portraiture Class, One on One Printing)
Opening night festivities start at 6:30, December 8th. Come take a look! The work will be up for a while, so come take a look even if you can’t make the opening.
