The Image Flow has conducted our annual Photo of the Month Photography Competition for three years, and we are happy to announce an update. Photo of the Season Photography Competition has cash prizes and the benefit of additional time to submit. We challenge you to respond to our new prompts with thought-provoking submissions every season. We look forward to seeing your best work!
The Image Flow will evaluate each submission on composition, color, contrast, and overall quality when making the selections. In addition to technical components, we will also consider subject interest, point of view, and whether the image tells a story.
Under the seasonal theme of Calm Before the Storm, the competition is open to photographers globally.
For Photo of the Season: Fall, 2026 – the theme is “Calm Before the Storm.”
This fall, we invite you to explore the theme “Calm Before the Storm”. We want to see photos that are quiet, yet full of tension. The definition of “storm” is up to you. Is it extreme weather, a high-stakes performance, a protest, a party, or something unknown? We want to revel in the feeling of rest before the action begins.

This call is open to all artists worldwide.
All entries must be original works of art and entirely the work of the entrant. Open to photography mediums (film, digital, alternative process, printmaking, digital art) except film/video, mixed media, and AI-generated images.
