Build a strong foundation in Adobe Lightroom Classic with this comprehensive workshop. Whether you’re looking to organize, edit, or share your photos, Lightroom Classic is the perfect tool to streamline your photography workflow. 

In this workshop, you will learn how to: 

  • Effectively organize and manage your growing photo collection 
  • Edit your images to enhance their overall look 
  • Batch Edit for faster results 
  • Export and print high-quality photos 
  • Understand the difference between Lightroom and Lightroom Classic 

Instructor Nathan Lomas, will guide you through the entire process–from basic techniques to more advanced editing tips. By the end of this workshop, you will have a solid Lightroom Classic workflow and a toolkit of editing skills to elevate your photography.

No prior experience with RAW processing is required, but students will need to bring RAW image files to practice during the workshop.  

 

In-Person Class Schedule:

Day 1: Introduction to importing, organizing, and navigating the Library module. 

Day 2: Continuing with the Library module, covering image rating systems and file organization.

Day 3: Wrapping up the Library module and beginning the Develop module, focusing on RAW processing methods. 

Day 4: Continuing with the Develop module, including localized image adjustments.

Day 5: Wrapping up the Develop module and begin batch image processing and catalog backups.

Day 6: Finishing with an Introduction to Exporting and the Print Module. We may review the Slideshow and Book modules if time permits

Nathan Lomas

Nathan hails from Buffalo, NY. He developed his passion for photography at the tender age of five when his father gave him a Ricoh camera. He has a BFA from the College of Creative Studies in Detroit and an MFA in Imaging Arts from the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. He is a former professor at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, owns his photo studio in Alameda where he specializes in 19th-century tintype photography, and at The Image Flow, works with digital restoration, film scanning, and printing, as well as teaching workshops and working one-on-one with clients.

Requirements

  • Digital Camera with RAW capabilities
  • Laptop computer with Adobe Lightroom Classic installed
  • Data transfer cable to connect camera to laptop, or camera card reader (if not built into laptop)
  • 10–15 unprocessed RAW images on the first day of class (on a memory card or flash drive). Do NOT import into Lightroom!
